Essex Forest Church

We seek to find the presence of God in the open air and in nature, and to connect with the Divine Being who is present in creation. We seek to foster a love of creation, a love which will lead us to care for it. We look for reconciliation between nature and human beings, and within human relationships.

We plan to meet about eight times a year, around the annual cycle of solstices and equinoxes, a pattern with which Christian festivals and seasons coincide. When we gather we shall

  • Appreciate out physical surroundings, and seek to learn from nature’s lessons
  • Seek to connect with the presence of the divine in creation through stories, poetry, reflections, and listening to one another
  • Welcome people of any age and of any religious or spiritual tradition
  • Share in refreshments

As from 2016, there will be Essex Forest Church (Baddow), and there will also be Essex Forest Church (North Hinckford), which will meet in a variety of rural locations in North Essex.

The Baddow gatherings will be at 3.00pm on Sunday afternoons, in the garden and woods of The Rectory, Little Baddow. This is very close to Blakes Wood, which is looked after by the National Trust, and to Danbury Ridge and Heather Hills woods, which are looked after by the Essex Wildlife Trust.
Intended dates in 2016 are:

Sunday 7th February
Sunday 20th March
Sunday 1st May
Sunday 19th June

After that it is intended to meet quarterly in various woods around the woods and villages of the North Hinckford region. Please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to be placed on an e-mailing list for further details.
